Embracing the Journey: Returning to Work After Maternity Leave

Becoming a mother has been an extraordinary and life-changing experience. It has been the most happy and sad, busy and boring time of my life. While Maddy Jean is the cutest (yes, I am that mom) and tons of fun, I can confidently say I am ready to return to work. I miss my patients, my coworkers, and the fulfillment I get from my profession. But with my return, I wanted to share some quick thoughts from the little time I’ve had being a momma.

Growing Pains

Motherhood has come with its share of challenges, but with each challenge has come growth. You learn to be patient, resilient, and adaptable. You discover strength within you that you never knew existed. These are the exact qualities I hope to empower each patient that I work with.

Finding Balance

As a mom, finding a balance between taking care of your child, managing the household, and caring for yourself is crucial. Self-care becomes a necessity rather than a luxury. This is so vital for EVERYONE, not just new moms and a conversation I chose to have with all of my patients. Whether it's a few moments of meditation or a walk in the park, we must remember that we cannot build a strong building on a weak foundation.

Cherishing Every Moment

Time flies, and before you know it, your little one is growing up. You learn to savor each moment, knowing that these early years are fleeting and precious. One way to ensure that time is not getting away from us is to set goals. Goals help align our focus and promote a sense of autonomy, something I want to help instill in all my patients.

Motherhood is a journey that has already left a lasting imprint on my heart. I appreciate my team and my patients for allowing me to take the time with my baby. Now, it’s gains season and the #daniplani is ready for action.
